"As salt resolved in the ocean
I was swallowed in God's sea,
Past faith, past unbelieving,
Past doubt, past certainty.

Suddenly in my bosom
A star shone clear and bright;
All the suns of heaven
Vanished in that star's light."
  • Rumi

UNESCO declared that next year will be the International Year of Rumi - 2007.

Rumi was born in Persia, in what is now Afghanistan close to the border of Iran.

I have written a few articles on Rumi and Rumi's poetry

Thank you for this beautiful website.
The origines of Sufism in twelfth and thirteenth century Persia is my subject of study, which I do in the Hague with the cousin of Hazrat Inayat Khan, Mahmood Khan. I am very happy with this Rumiyear.
May I introduce to you my Rumicards, they are on my website. When I designed these cards,I had not yet discovered, that it is next year 800 years ago, that Rumi was born.
Thank you very much, I hope,next year will give us much inspiration.
