Talking about overcoming anger. It reminds me of certain dealings with NTL phone company. To be polite they are not always the best organised company in the UK. They do however offer many opportunities for the practise of tolerance, patience and forgiveness.

Anyway for 3 years I have had broadband access with NTL. To be fair it is very reliable and super fast. However it is quite expensive at £35 a month. If you ring up and say you are going to leave them they will reduce it for a period of 3 months. But then every 3 months you have to keep ringing to ask for it to be reduced. I’ve done this a couple of times but it’s a bit of pain so I’ve decided to switch to BT Broadband. After 6 months at £14.99 it rises to £24.99 but the great advantage is you get a free wireless hub, so I will be able to offer it to my lodgers and people who stay. It is arriving soon and I hope it will provide a good service. Also you get free phonecalls at the weekend, not that I use that service much, (apart from ringing my mum once a week). The only problem with switching to BT is that you had to have a BT phoneline installed, but with a BT phoneline it means I can choose from a variety of internet providers in the future should I wish to switch from BT in the future.

Wireless internet seems the way forward. It will be interesting to see technologies in the future. It seems a long time since we used to gather around for an annual phone call to an aunt in Australia.
