When I frankly said this to some of the good Christian friends, they were shocked. But there was no help for it."
"After long study and experience I have come to the conclusion that
- all religions are true;
- all religions have some error in them;
- all religions are almost as dear to me as my own Hinduism."
- Mahatma Gandhi
Gandhi lived up to his ideal of religious harmony. At his own prayer meetings he used to include prayers and readings from other great religions such as Islam and Christianity. He also had great affinity with Jainism and Buddhism. IT was partly because of his interest and sympathy for Islam that Gandhi was assasinated by a Hindu fundamentalist in 1948
